It would be impossible to create a coherent account of so many places and people without reference to the adjoining parishes and Strathearn.Specific reference, often in great detail, has been made to Aberdalgie, Pitkeathly, Dron and Dunbarney, and the families of Grant and Craigie. Aberdalgie shares much history with Forgandenny and the two are naturally bound by geography and community. Aberdalgie suffered more than many parishes in recent times, and it is sometimes hard to envisage that it was once home to more than a thousand souls with one of the most progressive schools and churches in the region
